THATCH REPAIRS, MAINTENANCE

Brush or combing is the basic maintenance of thatch roofs or lapas by combing the grass and patches added where damage by birds or weather is evident, and any leaks repaired.

OVERTHATCH

An overthatch is when a new layer of grass is added on top of your existing layer, giving it a fresh outer look as seen on the pictures. This option is available provided you have not previously installed an overthatch, so as avoid compromising the roof weight by adding multiple layers of thatch.

RETHATCH

With a rethatch, all the old grass is stripped off completely, and replaced with new grass. The finer, Cape Reed grass is used as a fine first layer/carpet underlay, followed by an outer overlay of thatch
